PROGRAMS & SERVICES

Strengthening our African -American youth’s capacity to feel a sense of cultural PRIDE as they strive to reach their potential and staff to experience a sense of PRIDE in knowing that they are providing quality, culturally competent programs to youth we have the privilege of serving, exemplifies the philosophy of PYS’ success!

While making significant contributions to African-American youth and families, PYS is also effective in working with youth from other cultural backgrounds. We are currently supporting schools and communities in Maryland and Philadelphia, with more cities to come.

Evening Reporting Center (ERC) Program

The PYS Evening Reporting Center (ERC) provides a safe, inviting, and inclusive setting in which adolescents who are currently involved in the juvenile justice system can participate in a variety of program activities that will help them avoid or reduce their future engagement within this system. The ERC uses a culturally empowering, positive youth development framework to offer case management and related services.

This is a fully immersed program that provides transportation for teens from their homes and/or school to our center and keeps them engaged in a safe environment from 3 PM to 9 PM on weekdays. The youth also have opportunities to earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours towards their high school diploma.

The program includes:
